Current Research and Scholarly Interests My interest in cardiovascular precision medicine has two aims: (1) merging next generation sequencing (NGS) with iPS cell models in order to discover novel molecules that regulate cardiac development, disease, and drug response, and (2) developing multi-gene NGS assays for elucidating the DNA mutations that underlie cardiomyopathies, channelopathies, congenital heart disease, and sudden cardiac death.

Current Research and Scholarly Interests The study of cystic fibrosis, especially the role of airway submucosal glands in cystic fibrosis airway disease.
Clinical Associate Professor, Medicine - General Medical Disciplines
Current Research and Scholarly Interests I am the Director and qualitative lead for the evaluation of the Cancer Transformation Initiative, a 5-year project to transform the quality of care for cancer patients seen and treated at the Stanford Cancer Institute. Additionally, I am involved in and have great interest in studies and their evaluation intended to improve the quality of patient care particularly those related to cancer care, primary care, and the points of intersection between primary and specialty care.
Professor of Neurology and of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
Current Research and Scholarly Interests Winkelmann Lab has Postdoc and phd openings!
Our goal is to investigate the genetic architecture of neurological complex genetic diseases. We focus on restless legs syndrome (RLS) and want to understand how the functional organization of neuronal sensor motor circuits is altered in RLS patients leading to disease manifestation. We aim to identify genetic and environmental factors modifying disease susceptibility; understand the mode of action of current drugs as well as establishing personalized treatment options in the future.

Current Research and Scholarly Interests I am a biomedical engineer working in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with RF/microwave and mechatronics background. I am specifically interested in studying three primary topics: (1) hardware development for MR engineering applications, (2) multi-physics theoretical and computational modeling of MRI and other biomedical processes, and (3) hardware-/ and RF development for cellular and molecular imaging modalities.
