Current Research and Scholarly Interests My laboratory, the Center for Interdisciplinary Brain Sciences Research (CIBSR), focuses on multi-level scientific study of individuals with typical and atypical brain structure and function. Data are obtained from genetic analyses, structural and functional neuroimaging studies, assessment of endocrinological status, neurobehavioral assessment, and analysis of pertinent environmental factors. Our overarching focus is to model how brain disorders arise and to develop disease-specific treatments.

Current Research and Scholarly Interests When light waves traverse matter, the phase of the wave is subject to a subtle shift in the phase. Recently, it became possible to observe phase shifts with conventional X-ray tubes, promising unprecedented insights into the human body.
My research is on translating this exciting technology to clinical practice. I contribute novel algorithms for the optimal representation of phase-sensitive data and the identification of novel markers for early detection of cancer.

Current Research and Scholarly Interests As a general pediatric radiologist with a biophysical background I am interested in mentoring projects in all of pediatric radiology except radiology of the central nervous system. My specific research areas in the past have been pediatric cardiac, urogenital, and oncologic imaging. A specific area of interest has been measurements in pediatric radiology especially for evaluation of normal versus abnormal size of structures, organs etc.

Current Research and Scholarly Interests My research interest is imaging informatics--ways computers can work with images to leverage their rich information content and to help physicians use images to guide personalized care. Work in our lab thus lies at the intersection of biomedical informatics and imaging science.
