Current Research and Scholarly Interests My lab is focused on brain function, development and repair with emphasis on neural regeneration to prevent and cure blindness.
We also study neural circuits underlying visual fear and how to re-map them as a means to treat anxiety disorders.
The specific conditions we aim to understand and develop therapeutic strategies for include: traumatic brain injury, retinal and optic nerve damage, glaucoma, and disorders of sensory-limbic function, such as depression and anxiety.
