Investigator: Project 6, Acting Assistant Professor in Radiology - Nuclear Medicine (Stanford)
Dr. Chen is an Assistant Professor in Radiology focused on molecular imaging probe development and targeted drug delivery. He brings to the CCNE-TR team his expertise in radiochemistry and his research on the chemistry/radiochemistry of fundamental molecular probe design. Dr. Chen has validated a class of new RGD peptide probes that are tumor angiogenesis and metastasis specific. The probes he is developing for microPET imaging of brain tumor angiogenesis in pre-clinical animal models, along with his models to test angiogenesis inhibitors, can be translated into a clinical setting for improved patient management. He was also currently funded by NIBIB and DOD to develop near-infrared fluorescence imaging probes (both fluorescent dye and quantum dot based) for tumor imaging in vivo.
