Investigator: Project 6, GE Global Research
Since joining GE Research in 1995, Dr. Filkins has worked on variety of advanced electronic and laser-based R&D projects targeted primarily at nondestructive examination of material systems. His expertise includes optical, laser and electrical system design and fabrication, as well nonlinear optics and laser-material interaction. His current research interests include ultrafast lasers and their application to biological systems. He holds eighteen US patents in the areas of electronic, ultrasonic and optical systems.
