Center for Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence Focused on Therapy Response
Faculty
We have
assembled a unique team of leading scientists from more than 14 disciplines including Chemistry, Materials Science & Engineering, Cancer Biology, Immunology, Molecular Imaging, and Clinical Oncology to develop a cutting-edge nanocenter focused on developing, optimizing, and validating nanotechnology to predict and monitor response to cancer therapies.
Scientists from Stanford University; the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA); Cedars-Sinai Medical Center; the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center; the University of Texas at Austin; and General Electric Global Research (GE) have all come together to resolve this important cancer problem. Over half of the investigators in this nanocenter have been actively involved in nanotechnology development for many years and already have grants in developing and applying nanotechnology. They are now collaborating with other investigators, whose primary focus is cancer biology/oncology, to provide a unique consortium to tackle cancer management.
Principal Investigator: Sanjiv Sam Gambhir, M.D., Ph.D.
