Nic is right at home at Stanford, having grown up in the hills behind the University and graduated from nearby Gunn High School in Palo Alto. Afterward, he moved north to UC Davis to study Business. Nic joined the lab as a research assistant for the summer of 2010, learning molecular biology methods from Marta as well as radiobiological modeling from Bobby.
